Mr Dries Joubert, Chairperson of TAU SA North expressed his deep concern with the unfounded provocative and aggressive language used by the South African Communist Party Govan Mbeki District in an invitation letter to all so called “Alliance partners”.
Mr. Japie Spanio, chairperson of the Safety Committee of TAU SA North said it is a pity that the SACP should use violence, hate and unfounded allegations to motivate people to attend their meetings.
He said that it is such a pity that in a time that building and upliftment of a country and its people should be a priority, the SACP still hangs on to an outdated ‘revolution’ philosophy. The same old rhetoric is being used that was proved futile and irrelevant in so many countries. He said this tortoise-living-in-the-past mentality is a sad reflection of the inability of the SACP to grab the future and help build South Africa into a winning nation.
South Africa has some of the best labour relations legislation and some of the strictest laws on security of tenure in the world. He said the PIE, ESTA and Labour Relations Acts are there for all the use. He said those who cannot afford legal representation can even apply through the Legal Aid Board. He said it is therefore unfounded to state as heading “Exposing farm workers exploitation in Vaalwater Area” and “The following branches are seriously affected by Game Farming Industry, farm workers exploitation and forced removal” The said the motive is therefore not to abide to law or to adhere to the rule of law but must be found in the outdated communist philosophy.
Mr. Spanio said that the words used in the invitation such as “exposing farm workers exploitation in Vaalwater Area” and “the following branches are seriously affected by Game Farming Industry, farm workers exploitation and forced removals” is a sad reflection of the mentality of those who fail throughout the years to make any useful contribution towards the South African economy. He challenged the SACP to prove their allegations. He invited M Makwela to contact TAU SA North with examples in this regard. He said the SACP knows nothing else but hatred and violence and the wording of this invitation letters is a prime example of this outdated thought pattern.
Mr. Spanio said that the Safety Committee of TAU SA North will be put on full alert and members are warned to be on the lookout for those who fuel hatred and violence. He said the allegation that some of the devastating veld fires were not accidentally caused should be investigated.
Mr. Spanio said that the SAPS will be informed of this threatening letter. Any farm attack, farm murder, and veld fires against members of the Vaalwater Community will be regarded as sabotage and deliberate hate crimes against those whose only ‘crime’ is to produce enough food – even for the members of the SACP and its ‘Alliance Partners’.
Mr. Joubert called upon the Safety Committee of TAU SA North to be on the alert. He said it is a pity that South Africa should still suffer under the hate fuelling outdated violent aggression of some groups in a time that the building of the South African community and economy is necessary to bring a better live for all.
